Richard Bosch and Tarja Shipston are pleased to announce that David Carroll has achieved the designation of Canadian Certified Pedorthist following the successful passing of the practical and written examinations of The College of Pedorthics of Canada.
David has accepted a position as Pedorthist at Stride Orthopaedics & Footwear, bringing the number of clinicians at Stride to three. There are currently just over 500 CPed(C)'s in Canada.
Stride will be offering patient-friendly appointment times six days a week, with the addition of evening appointments in the spring. After attaining an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at Lakehead University, followed by a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Confederation College, David enrolled in the Pedorthics programme at the University of Western Ontario.
David looks forward to assissting the people of Northwestern Ontario in achieving their health goals, be they a personal best in a running program, walking the dog comfortably, or treating the effects of systemic diseases such as diabetes and arthritis.
A Canadian Certified Pedorthist is one of the few foot care practitioners who is trained in the assessment, design, manufacture, fit and modification of foot appliances and footwear for the purposes of alleviating painful or debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or limited actions of the lower limb. Canadian Certified Pedorthists work with prescribing healthcare practitioners to help people of all ages achieve and maintain healthy lower limbs and feet. Stride Orthopaedics & Footwear is a full service pedorthic facility that is locally owned and operated. They specialize in the biomechanical assessment and management of lower limb problems caused by improper foot and leg motion.
Stride was opened in 2000 by Tarja Shipston and Richard Bosch, who together have over thirty years of clinical practice experience.
