Richard Bosch was educated at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree in 1995. He then began his apprenticeship in Pedorthics, working with Tarja Shipston assessing, fabricating and dispensing custom foot orthotics, modifying footwear and fitting custom and stock footwear.

He achieved the designation of Certified Pedorthic Technician (Canada) in 1996, and Certified Pedorthist (Canada) in 1999. In February of 2003, Richard was registered with the newly formed College of Pedorthics of Canada.

In September of 2000, Richard and Tarja opened Stride Orthopaedics & Footwear, allowing them to expand the services they were able to provide to the people of Thunder Bay and the surrounding region.

Richard is a Past-President of the Pedorthic Association of Canada and continues as a member of the Insurance and Government Relations committee.  He is also currently on the faculty of the Western University Pedorthics Programme, teaching the course on Business Ethics and Practices.

Richard is recognized as a Certified Medical Stocking fitter, and has had several articles published on such topics as Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome, Patellofemoral Syndrome, and the Application of Medical Compression Stockings.

Richard is a regular guest lecturer at the School of Kinesiology, focussing on gait assessment and clinical application of biomechanical priciples taught in the Kinesiology program.

He has presented to Health Canada and their Benefit plan administrator ESI Canada, Pacific Blue Cross, GreenShield, Manulife, Sunlife and Blue Cross.  His specialty in these presentations is the provision of services in an ethical manner that benefits the patient, and the plan sponsor.

A proud corporate citizen, Richard and his business partner Tarja Shipston are proud of their support of local charities, service organizations and community activity programs.

Richard's interests outside of the office include hockey, soccer and camping with his family in some of the most beautiful wilderness God has given us, Northwestern Ontario!
