Registered Member | Richard Bosch was educated at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree in 1995. He then began his apprenticeship in Pedorthics, working with Tarja Shipston assessing, fabricating and dispensing custom foot orthotics, modifying footwear and fitting custom and stock footwear. He achieved the designation of Certified Pedorthic Technician (Canada) in 1996, and Certified Pedorthist (Canada) in 1999. In February of 2003, Richard was registered with the newly formed College of Pedorthics of Canada. In September of 2000, Richard and Tarja opened Stride Orthopaedics & Footwear, allowing them to expand the services they were able to provide to the people of Thunder Bay and the surrounding region. Richard is a Past-President of the Pedorthic Association of Canada and continues as a member of the Insurance and Government Relations committee. He is also currently on the faculty of the University of Western Ontario Pedorthics Programme. Richard is recognized as a Certified Medical Stocking fitter, and has had several articles published on such topics as Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome, Patellofemoral Syndrome, and the Application of Medical Compression Stockings. Richard is a regular guest lecturer at the School of Kinesiology, focussing on gait assessment and clinical application of biomechanical priciples taught in the Kinesiology program. Richard's interests outside of the office include hockey, and camping with his family in some of the most beautiful wilderness God has given us, Northwestern Ontario! |
